I Think everyone needs a best friend out side of a relationship, however it would bother me if it was another man. Im not saying having male friends but having her best friend be male.

Yes, i want my lover to be my bestfriend or if not, a friend would do. Like friends they are open to each other, i want him to be comfortable with me and me with him. If ever he have his bestfriend. I will not compete with her/him as long as they know where to set their foot into.

Good question. happy

I think that if our friendship were not extremely close, we would not have become a couple at all. I do want him to feel the same about me.

I don’t expect a boyfriend to greatly diminish the time he spends with his friends for me. Ideally, I will become friends with his friends and he with mine. There would be times we spend together, together with our friends and separately with our friends. I cannot discriminate the gender of his friends when most of my oldest friendships are with men.

I like this because I think semantics can get in the way. There is a distinction between your partner being your best friend and your best female friend IMO

I would not tolerate my partner having a BFF tho...I would not try to change him, I just would not get involved with a man who has a BFF (IMO no such thing in a platonic sense unless he is gay) jmhowaving

My first husband made his friends "all and everything" for many years. (We were both young when we got married.)...I was disappointed because my first husband wasn't much of a "family man" and we had two small children...He opened-up with his friends but not with me...I guess it made him feel like a kid again to go off and play with his friends. Married life and fatherhood probably made him feel "old" when he still wanted to be "young" and "free."...Anyway we really weren't close at all during the last few years of our marriage. Sad!...But later in life we became friends again due to our sons...My "last" husband wanted to enjoy life with me. And this was nice. We stayed best friends until the day he died.
