I have an Android phone (LG Enlighten) running Gingerbread 2.3.4, and up until recently I used an app called Dax Social to access various social sites including Mingle2 when on the go. As of the past few days, I am no longer able to successfully use Mingle2 with that app. I can still access Facebook, Twitter and other social utilities just fine with it (out of the many it offers) but when I click the icon for Mingle2, it does the following:

Loads up the home page, showing me icons for mail, forums, etc.

If I click on my Inbox, it shows me my messages, BUT...

If I attempt to actually read a message, it either

A. Displays the message for about two seconds and then kicks me back out to the initial app screen where I'm asked to choose which social utility I want to access, OR

B. Refuses to load anything at all and just "hangs" with a blank screen and an indicator that it is trying to load something but nothing ever happens and it eventually stops trying. This occurs both on 3G and on WiFi.

If I click to enter the Forums rather than my Inbox, it will take me to the forum page, but if I click to read a thread, it kicks me back to the initial app screen again (the one with all the social utility choices, as mentioned above).

Last night I tried an experiment, and attempted to access Mingle2 with the Boat Browser app on my phone, and could not even log in successfully -- again, it would try to load something after I typed in my username and password, but would just "hang" and eventually time out.

I then tried using my phone's stock browser, and was finally able to access the site and read forum threads. I didn't try doing anything with my Inbox on the stock browser, although if anyone would like me to test that I'll be happy to do so and report my results.

My carrier is Verizon in case that makes a difference, although given I'm having issues on both 3G and my home WiFi, it shouldn't.

Thanks for the information, ViaMusica. I will check to see if we have made any changes to the mobile site in that time. That said, I'm not sure how high we would prioritize supporting such an app.

Thanks, and I understand. I do think, though, that there are probably many people like me who sometimes only get on the site via their mobile, possibly for days. I had an ongoing conversation in Mingle e-mails with another member yesterday and was away from my computer for some time when I had an alert hit my Gmail box saying he'd sent me another message here on Mingle2, but of course I was unable to reach the site to respond directly until several hours later.

That may be happening to others as well. Fortunately in my case, the user and I do have each other's personal email addresses so I was able to ask him to take the conversation there but that probably isn't the optimal solution from Mingle2's perspective.

Thanks for the response and have a great day.

Oh, we definitely will make any necessary adjustments to m.mingle2.com. I was referring to Dax Social and similar apps when I suggested lower priority.

Update: As of 2AM EST, and still this morning, m.mingle2.com now crashes BOTH the stock Android browser and Boat Browser, as well as Dax Social. I no longer have ANY access to this site without using an actual computer.

What happens is that I can load the main forum page, or any page accessible by a link from, say, Google... so if I search on a topic and Mingle2, then click a link in the search results, it will load that page... but as soon as I try to scroll, or to click a link on the Mingle site (say, to go to a different thread in the forum), the browser closes. This behavior is uniform across both browsers and the Dax application.

If I go directly to http://m.mingle2.com in either browser, the browser usually crashes without ever loading the page.

Zero mobile access. This'll be fun when I travel and don't take my computer.

Sorry to learn of those issues, ViaMusica. We have not had any uptick in such reports from mobile users, unfortunately, and we have done testing on a few Androids without being able to duplicate the trouble.

That's really odd. Let me try it from a friend's phone and see what happens.

Have you tried changing the size of your text scaling (or some other accessibility setting), sexylover4u2love? On the Android phones and emulators that we have at our disposal, we have not been able to see this issue.
