Egypt protests: Photo diary of an American tourist
Michael Campbell, Egypt experienced one of its bloodiest days on Wednesday when security forces broke up protest camps in Cairo. At least 638 people are known to have died. International politics graduate Michael Campbell, 25, from Dallas, Texas, went to see what was happening and documented what he saw on Wednesday in nearby Nasr el-Din in Giza. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-23721612 Michael Campbell is my grandson's buddy. He arrived at DFW Airport yesterday. He is a bit of an adventurist and went to Europe this summer mainly for the running of the bulls in Spain. Hitched hiked around for a while then went to Egypt to witness what was going on. At first the protesters were hostile towards him but after they found out that he was just an American tourist they protected him. The BBC may ask him to return to Egypt(and pay his way)for more pictures. I told him that he was crazy if he does. |
