avast is free and excellent. google avast and pick
avast.com/index. and hit the downloads one.
they try to get you to pay to upgrade,
but stick with the free one.

It's actually Malwarebytes.org and use this in combination with Microsoft Security Essentials.

This is a good one.

I Use Malwarebytes, and avast seems to work the best, but remember if you don't have the necessary RAM in your computer Avast is a resource hog, if you don't Microsoft Security Essentials works well for computers that don't have the necessary memory.

Use Hitman pro also to get a good idea of what malware/trojans etc... is on your system, then you can search online for ways to remove it. Hitman pro is free to use for scanning, but it will not delete the problems unless you pay to activcate it.

However you may activate a free 30 day license if you cannot remove the threats with your other programs. So that's a good option if you are out of options lol. Still even without activating hitman pro, it is invaluable as it gives you an idea of what's on your system.

Also when downloading a program under 60 mb, go to virustotal and then upload the .exe file and it will scan the file using 47 anti-virus programs and tell you what problems are included with the program.

Even if there are issues with the suspicious program, if yo know you have the ant-malware programs to remove the issues ( after researching the problems online) you can still go ahead and install the program, which will usually be a free one--that's why there are malware and stuff included.

Adwcleaner rocks as well, you run it, then you restart your system, then you run it again and then uninstall it. It's a great one to use.

Malwarebytes is great also as per the previous recommendations.

When it comes to anything software, I recommend checking out CNET.com.

I actually tried ad aware for my laptop I have here and I have been able to find any and all trojans and viruses that attempted to destroy my computer. Keeps saying to upgrade but it will automatically reset it after a while

If you cant run Malwarebytes, stinger or sophos you got a bad one. Go to safe mode and pray you can run it from there.

We do this service professionally and if anyone needs help let me know, we remote in with teamviewer and get most of it done.

I run Avast mostly but there have been times when Avast has missed things. I used to run AVG and Macafee many years ago and along came some Malware that incapacitated both Macafee and AVG and Malware bytes was the only thing that got rid of it.
