Would have a lot to do with the circumstances.

Saying that someone unemployed has to set life aside entirely in a rabid
pursuit of employment seems like a reverse workaholism. Does the
unemployed person have a disadvantage carrying their share in the
reciprocal relationship of dating? Yes. But many people cope quite well.

Someone who is living off other's, in functional health, and too high
and mighty to take a "regular" job no I would pass.

The caveat was I encouraged my kids (even when college age) to earn
their date money as a line item expense because it gave balance to their
lives.

The same goes for people with disabilities. I don't see that because
they have budgetary assistance that they should not have the normalcy of
dating and finding companionship/relationships.

Well the exception might be a full time student (which I consider work)
and they are carrying their student debt or earned scholarships with an
employment goal; no problem. An eternal student no.

If someone has a genuine disability that would be aggravated by work
then they pass.

Or someone retired; on a pension they earned. Fine.

Or someone who has worked and earned enough assets that they can afford
not to work. Great. If you save early, live modestly, buy property and
or businesses, earn royalties on your own ideas/creativeness sure I
don't care if someone does not have to work.

I find it kind of offensive if they lay around and don't do anything for
others indefinitely; especially if they are living off inheritance but
people who get an attitude about success kind of spits on the concept of
capitalism and success.

I believe the People who have and abundance of resources and blessings
should have some gratitude and share that in the world to some degree.

Not sure that works in a dating relationship where things hopefully are
relatively reciprocal. Maybe not dollar for dollar but at least in time
and effort. I have worked seasonal workers that were technically
unemployed but I pretty much expected them to have put aside to tide
them over and have a annual budget that allowed them to live with in
their standard of living.
