Donald Sterling to "fight to the bloody end"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6k20KlxSIM Sterling is right about the points he's making now. 1) He gave Rochelle permission to be the negotiator not sole seller and given his obvious loss of business acumen and respect from his peers over this silly rabbit ordeal she should be the family mouthpiece. 2) If we go back and listen to what everyone in the know was saying prior to the public learning about the rant it seriously appears that the NBA knew what was going on the entire time and did nothing to intervene. So as far as I'm concerned the NBA is equally responsible for any alleged damage they claim has occurred to their reputation as an organization after the tapes were made public. The evidence we've been allowed to see thus far clearly shows that this whole Sterling/rabbit thingy was well planned in advance and orchestrated right when it would hurt and help most. While everyone continues to maintain how the NBA has been affected we the public also see criminal activity that needs explaining and clarification before this scandal can ultimately be put to bed. After all, Mr. $ was covertly recorded which is illegal in California, this illegal evidence was then made public so he could be punitively damaged far worse than the statements he uttered in private actually deserve. And this kind of tyrannical behavior the NBA is displaying for worldwide viewing and assessment leaves me wondering just WTF are THEY thinking? 3) If the NBA let's some people skate on their racist or inappropriate speech and/or actions they should let everybody skate. Showing preferential treatment isn't smart business tactics. Personally, I've never followed basketball other than the few times I watched the Harlem Globetrotters back when until this scandal made me curious to see what the organization is all about and I'm not too impressed with what I've seen so far. Even if Mr. $ is one of the worst NBA team owners in relation to how he ran his business more like a personal play toy than a money making franchise while offending those in his community that he views culturally different, he still paid his way throughout all these decades and helped LA more than his few adverse words and deeds have hurt it. |

Donald Sterling vows to fight sale of Clippers
www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6Ta9ofqd0c If the NBA strips the Clippers from the Sterling's so they can sell the team to whoever they choose this action will create a frightening precedent that all Americans should seriously be concerned about. The ease by which it took a business organization to compromise a family (illegally obtaining and airing dirty laundry) in order to take their property and banish them from the community should wake people up to the new modern day reality. That we need to watch what we say in the privacy of our homes because it can be illegally recorded and used against us in a court of public opinion where we are found guilty first and left without any ability to explain or prove our innocence before we are summarily punished. |

Reports: Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer wins bidding for Clippers with NBA-record $2 billion offer
sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/report--former-microsoft-ceo-steve-ballmer-to-buy-los-angeles-clippers-for-nba-record--2-billion-234227311.html WOW! A billion for him and a billion for her. I'd say this is a fair amount of money to cushion their fall from NBA society. It should/would take the sting out of all this mess! |

Report: Sterling deemed mentally unfit
sports.yahoo.com/news/report-sterling-deemed-mentally-unfit-141644370--nba.html Finally... it would be good to see this scandal cleaned up nicely. I still can't help but to be curious about how the silly rabbit is going to be ultimately dealt with. Or if everything is just going to be slowly forgotten from lack of direct focus? |

With Sale Pending, Vote on Sterling Is Canceled
www.nytimes.com/2014/05/31/sports/basketball/nba-clippers-sterling.html?_r=1 The agreement amounted to a victory for the league. Not only did a wealthy buyer step forward to pay a record price for the team, but the league's owners will also not have to vote on whether to take away a team from a fellow owner, a move that could have set an uncomfortable precedent. ![]() ![]() ![]() This whole nasty business still makes me feel uncomfortable because it's so freakin' obvious there's more to the story than what's being sold. But it's business as usual and the games go on... |
