I swear some people are crazy especially the ones that don't like dogs they are so cute! my aunts husband doesn't like dogs and my mom and me took her dog to my aunts house and he started barking at my aunts husband lmfao made my day.

Where I live dogs can be a real problem at times, it's not the dogs fault though, it's mostly their idiot owners not controlling them properly that causes the issues.
Lol, after working nights for a couple of weeks straight I certainly don't think they're cute when they run around the yard beside mine barking at nothing all day while I'm trying to sleep |

Not everyone loves dogs. I like dogs, but I have never owned one. Dogs need be trained, walked and taken care of. You need to have time to take care of it and spend time with it. If you work a lot it, it is not fair to the dog to be left alone.

I love dogs. I agree about being a responsible pet owner too. I wouldnt take my dog to anyones home without their permission and I wouldnt think it funny if my dog barked at people when he was in their home. My mom was attacked by a dog when she was a child so she never liked dogs at her house, and we have relatives who just showed up with their dog for a holiday once. They had to take it outside, and if it had started barking at my mother in addition, she would have asked them to leave, even tho she loves them. You do have to take other people into consideration when you are a dog owner. My landlord has dogs and she had to pay to have them trained so they would not bark and jump up on us. They have come a long way from when they were not trained. |

I think there are also places designated 'pet friendly' and those who dont like animals should probably steer clear of those.
Likeeise, those who love pets should keep them clear of anyone that has made it known they do not ,,,for whatever reason. There are times of day when we are 'expected' to endure more noise than others, I think those who take issue with 'noise' during the day are irritating, but those who are expecting a certain quiet at night arent really asking too much. I wouldnt want to keep a dog from barking, that is how they communicate, but I would expect owners to train them in terms of what they bark about (loneliness as opposed to an intruder or threat,,,ie) |

I have three dogs and one cat... It just feels good to come home I kick them around a little bit when I'm having a bad day... I figure once I can have a successful relationship with my animals, I can then have a successful relationship with an actual human being...

There are times of day when we are 'expected' to endure more noise than others, I think those who take issue with 'noise' during the day are irritating, but those who are expecting a certain quiet at night arent really asking too much. That's because you sleep at night. If you had to sleep during the day perhaps your perspective would be a little different. I have no issue with people going about their business, using power tools, mowing lawns, reving Harley's (neighbour) etc., it's part of daytime activities and foolish to expect people tone it down during the day. The problem I have is with people who get a dog or two, do not train them to behave and basically just let them do whatever they want. Then these people go to work, the kids go to school, and the dog/s are left to do whatever they want all day, which in most cases here ends up being running around barking at anything, everything and nothing. People's choices of dog could probably do with a little education at times too I feel, a lot of times I see couples both working full-time that will get a high-maintanence working dog for a pet, all ok while they're around spending time with them, but those dogs usually have a great time and cause all sorts of problems when left to their own devices. I think this is not fair on the dog itself, or other people who's lives are affected by these dogs when that situation arises. |

To reply with "well said" is an understatement. Yes having a pet comes with a responsibility, but a lot of people are either too blind or too stupid to realize that. Sometimes when people are rude and undisciplined, I would compared them to my dog -an animal yet loving and disciplined!:-)

I miss my dog. I left it with a relative & kids when I moved away. I still call them to check on her.

Its not the dogs its the owners that are to blame. I have two dogs neither of which bark unless someone knocks at the door or when i play ball with them. I love my dogs, i never walk into an empty house and they are always happy to see me melts the heart and as someone said unconditional love :)

I have worked all types of shifts,, those where I slept days and those where I slept at night I felt the same when I slept during the day,, the 'normal' sleep period for the human body is during the evenings the daytime noise is daytime noise, whether its a barking dog or a lawnmower,,,to be expected imho |

My x has a chihuahua boy I tell u that dog wud bark if he heard a pin drop on the floor... Non stop barking the tenants upstairs were contently complaining about it. But hey how in the --- can u keep a chihuahua from barking unless u mussle him but me personally I think to do that is cruelty... What can I say after all they r dog an it's in there nature to bark... At least ur safe cz whatever passed by u'd know about it... Heads up chihuahua on arlet.
