The Israeli lobby is one of the strongest in DC with staunch supporters in congress like McShame, Graham, Cruz, and others....mostly Repulsicon warmongers and Hawks.... receiving massive campaign contributions for their support as Israel receives BILLION in taxpayer funded aid and arms from us.....even after this event.

Israel became a nuclear power and continues to be a central figure in the seemingly unending "��war on terrorism" ��even attacking the USS Liberty while President Johnson is reported to have growled: "I want that ship on the bottom!" as a rescue mission from the nearby Navy carrier was said to have been called back.

Newly-released tapes obtained form the NSA under the Freedom of Information Act prove what every USS Liberty survivor, former Secretary of State Dean Rusk, and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Thomas Moorer have said all along: that Israel deliberately attacked an American ship. The plan was to sink it, blame Egypt, and draw the US into the Six Day War on the Israeli side, but the heroism of the Liberty crew in fighting ship damage, often while wounded, prevented it from sinking with all hands. The tapes are featured in "The Day Israel Attacked America" by film-maker Richard Belfield, whose previous production credits include National Geographic TV and Discovery Channel.
