" I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the
starless midnight of Racism and War thet the Bright daybreak of peace
and brotherhood can never become a reality"

What is happening to our nation, what is happening to our world?
In these turbulent days we have a decline in the interest
in the rights and dignity of anybody!
This is not what we started in the sixties, this is not where we wanted
to be.
We wanted a nation were color was not the measure of a mans soul,
of his worth, and after forty years of struggle for progress what do we
have?
Hate crimes, church bombings, an increase in Neal Nazis and militias.
People who hate simply because that’s what they were taught.
This is not what we needed, this is not what we were trying to achieve.
Adjust the system that is anything but color-blind .
A supreme court that is reversing all of the social, economic and
political
advances that have been made.
This isn’t what we believed back then.
A system where the bottom line is more important than peoples lives or
livelihood.
A growing indifference in the inequities of those who have and those who
have not.
Indeed... this is not what we wanted... this is not what we thought to
achieve.
What we knew we wanted... Can it really be out of reach?........
