Generally speaking, it may be dependent on the other party's readiness to open up to certain people. If your friend shared his pictures just because he wanted to and not because she demanded or asked for them, i dont see why she should be pressured to show hers, but otherwise, it ought to work both ways, i think, regardless of gender. I do think that someone constantly regaling their comeliness to the other person, but at the same time, "shy" about it, is highly contradictory, and as such, a red flag. Now if someone is asking for something from the other person, then yes, the person has a right to have such a "proof of life" This. It depends which application your friend keeps hounding his girl to use. I don't care for cell phone applications as a way to share information with others. I store NOTHING on my cell phone, including contact numbers. I don't use the text feature either. Spy nation has nothing on me if I can help it. I prefer my computer and I store everything there. I use yahoo messenger to share info. It's more private and doesn't force you to share your cell phone or other vulnerable information.
I despise whatsapp and refuse to use it because I don't like that you cannot make your cell phone private. I also never store any private info or images on my cell. I am a private person. You hear horror stories of info and pics being compromised on cell phones. It even happened to high profile celebrities. I don't even store contact numbers on my cell. This world is SPYING on us and the less info they have on me or my whereabouts, the better. Whatsapp is keeping a whole database of cell phone numbers under the pretense of providing a service. Why couldn't they provide their service without asking for cell phone numbers and, worse, making those numbers visible for all to see without the option to hide your number? The intrusion into our privacy by these companies and apps disgusts me. I refuse to play their game. I only use computer based applications. Even that is not safe but I do the best I can to protect myself. |
