Then I take a good look around at everyone and realize, maybe I already am. In fact I just wonder why I wonder, And I'm so grateful to God to have this capacity to wonder. My online dating name was SUPPOSED to be "David, Geek", like a title or profession. But, noooo - they don't allow non-alphanumeric characters. LETTERISTS!
As to why "David, Geek", I figure it's the best two-word summation of who I am and what I do. |

I'm actually hot blooded about certain things and can be passionate, but my favorite times in life are when I can allow myself to relax and let things flow through my soul, and just be calm, unreactive and....well, for lack of a better term, zen.
It's more of an aspiration for the man I feel myself becoming at this stage in my life. I'm a bit less hot-blooded about things, though I have my moments. Never lost my passion though, that will stick with me til death, hopefully. |

I'm a huge fan of low budget schlocky horror movies. I'm also a huge fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The late 60's schlocker Manos: The Hands Of Fate was one of the more popular episodes of MST3k. Torgo is the name of a character in the film (and became a recurring character on MST3K) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKNTaWElUgA That is a GREAT movie! Lousy script, horrible acting, but GREAT!

Lol No my name has nothing to do with kangaroos. Unless they are in the Zoos here, we don't have them in NZ. It is a nickname I thought was cute but has nothing to do with my original name.
My name original name means Queen of the fairies. Lol I did not want that because of the smart remarks some would make. Hahahaha |

Mine was mostly because I felt funny coming up with a fake name to give people who I hoped to have real interactions with.
So I remembered this old movie where people slightly altered their names, in order to try to get people not to think of them as identical to their parents, while still being sort of real about themselves. In Young Frankenstein, the title character alters his names pronunciation to "Fronkensteen," and he eventually hooks up with an assistant who sarcastically points out the absurdity of that, by demanding to be called "Eye-gore." So I put the two together, in hopes that at least SOME people would realize that I knew how silly it is to have a fake dating name. I didn't like how dumb the spelling looked for "Eye-gore Fronkensteen," so I went with what I have. |
