Most of the "Mexicans" that come into Texas are more of Indian/spanish descent.

rofl And ALL Hispanics are Hispanics because there DNA, ancestors and original language are from SPAIN & they are WHITE.

They certainly got around & banged every NATIVE in sight.
* Which is why, I joked about King Ferrente' .. fertile little guy...laugh *
"banged"? Rape is actually a more accurate description.

I might sound stupid...but i have to ask...why are mexicans called hispanic? Isnt hispanic used to mean spaniard? Aren't south and central americans considered as latinos, for being a population in latin america..?

The term Hispanic is best understood first, if you take note of the "ic" at the end. It is used to mean something on the order of "related to," or "similar to."

The reason why the term isn't "Spannic," is because the more ancient name of the Iberian Peninsula is Hispania (Roman).

Lots of arguing has occurred about the use of the term Hispanic, but not for a single reason.

As with all labeled subgroups, in addition to there being prejudices for and against the entire group, there are sub-SUB groups within the label, who have huge biases about each other. I don't know exactly who hates who, but I do know that many Mexicans take issue with anyone associating them with people from certain other more southerly Spanish speaking countries.

As for the racial divides and prejudices, the idea that "Hispanics" are either white or non-white, often seems to depend on the situation of the prejudiced person. When they are in competition with them, the people who hate them claim they are of a different race than they are. When they want them as allies against ANOTHER group, they will switch and claim that they are of the same race as they are.

Some of this also seems to be due to Eurocentrism. Some racists (of all types) see everyone who's ancestors came from any part of Europe, as being officially "white." They may hate them or accept them, but their decision about their race, is based on Ancestor Homeland, not melanin content, or cultural concerns.

Some people who care about such things also vary as to whether they consider the peoples of India to be "white" or not. Again, the inconsistencies aren't directly logical from a scientific standpoint.
