Well, I've been sitting back on this one , but I'm gonna' through in
my 2 cents, too. One reason other countries learn english is because it
is the easiest language to learn. and as far as the illegals coming and
taking our jobs/money; I live in Illinois where we have seasonal
contract labor bussed up from Mexico to work for Green Giant, Flavorite,
Joan of Arc, Economawoc, etc., to help harvest sweet corn, asparigus,
pumpkins, several types of beans, etc.. They all get a small 3 room
building to every 3-4 workers with gas, electric, and water, and a
decent wage on top of it. These are people who take the time to do the
paperwork and keep it legal, and at the end of the season they get a
free ride back home. Most of them are well mannered, but you'll always
get a couple of trouble makers, but you won't see them the next year.
Now, if you go to Chicago, it's a whole different story. I was
sitting in my 18 wheeler at Helene Curtis ( you know, shampoo, deodoant,
etc.) when all of a sudden a bunch of cars and SUVs and a few busses
pull through the gate and go up front, then people start running into
the building, out of the building over the fences, on top the train
cars, just total chaos. It was the INS, coming to collect some illegals.
Even with all the ones that got away, they filled the busses and had a
few stashed in the other vehicles, and still had a bunch standing
around. After the ones standing around were run through their computers,
they just let them go. No way to take them away today so they just went
back to work. All the others were "processed" and returned to Mexico.
The guard told us (me and some other drivers)that some of these people
would be back in a couple of days, but most would return within 2 weeks.
I witnessed this twice there. Now multiply that by 3 shifts a day, then
the big one, multiply that by how many factories in Chicago do this. And
most of these are jobs that people DO want, but can't get.And I am not
saying that these are all Mexicans, either. Don't forget your Iraqies,
Iranians, Pakistans, Indians(India), etc. that can get 3-6 month work
visa's to the good ol' US of A. They will buy a business ( you don't
have to be an American to buy land, buildings, auto's, etc.), then just
before their Visa is up, Here Comes a couple of uncles, aunts, cousins,
brothers , sister, etc. in any combination, to work for 3-6 months till
the owner can return on yet another visa.
The worst is what I heard about California. I guess out there they
are giving free federal assistance (aid, food stamps, section 8 housing,
free medical/dental, etc.) while some of our fellow Americans are
raoming the steets homeless and hungry.They even lowered pensions and
retirement money that the elderly worked their entire lives for just so
the illegals can have enough to live on.
I'm sorry, but if these people want to do it leagel, then fine, but
the illegal ones I have no sympathy for.
I just hope that didn't sound too prejudice, because it wasn't ment

Didnt sound negative in my opinion and I hope no one else took it that
way.
Do you ever wonder why INS raids some places and not others? Raiding a
small factory for a couple of people just shows "they are doing
something" why dont you see INS in the fields raiding a few thousand
workers picking tomatoes and oranges in Florida. Because the crop
wouldnt make it out and if Florida OJ doesnt make it out the US would
loose millions of tax revenue. If the INS and the US was serious about
cleaning house they would have done it long ago but the reality is the
lobbyst and local government cant afford to have the feds raid their
states and loose the tax base. Good old dollar. then again if the US
really wanted to clean house all they really need to do is give mexico
back the land they took way back yonder. As I see it California,New
Mexico,Arizona and a few others are spanish names. We didnt name them.
We named Virginia, PA and so on right? As of 2005 California had
according to the US census over 35 million residents. Well that about
makes up the illegals so I say give them California and the good growing
fields and let them keep it and sell us some produce. Tough one ah? Yeah
we have taken alot form everybody from the natives to the mexicans. Now
we must share like good little children of the same maker that we are.

Taino, only one problem with that . Florida was named by the
spaniards! If we give IT back, where will all the old people go .....
lol :)

Also, next time I go cruising through Virginia I just might have to
stop and say "howdy" to stormy. I like to meet people when I go out and
about. But you have to be careful around her kind. You know , the
a-t-h-l-e-t-i-c ones . They try to ruin what we've worked for years to
achive .......lolol :) Just kidding stormy, having a lil' fun at your

& your giving California away?? Good thing I signed up on here to find

I say build a wall on the mexican US border. Post troops along the
entire thing. ( use the guys in Iraq and at least get them back home on
friendly soil ) Any mexican trying to scale the wall gets a job
interview with the almighty. Blow them away. Once the word gets back
that they are being shot on sight, I think the exodus to the US will
slow down if not cease altogether. Where I work we are losing jobs to
places like Mexico because they are undercutting us in wages etc... our
employer can get the stuff we make here cheaper there. Bullshit. We
should be making and buying american products. We are wasting way to
much money on illegals who enter the USA. Prevention is the best best.
Build the wall. Shoot them on site. A cheap burial is less costly than
having to foot the bill for them for the next forty or fifty years. We
have US born citizens who do not have everything they need to survive or
to live appropriately. Build the wall and focus on our own needy.

your opinion of illegals. This one isn't even worth my time it takes to
type. Go do something fun, or creative, like fishing or build
something. Hey, read a book. You're just a racist and its sad you were
raised that way.

Anyone thats illegal Shouldnt Be Welcome in ANY country not just the
USA!! we all as people have a right to live,work,walk,speak where ever
we chose it's just some people make it more difficult for
others............

I do have a prob with spainsh being forced on our children! I belive
that our children should have the right to choose what language they
learn.I dolike the fact that schools take the time to teach another
language. I feel that any one coming to america should speak english,but
i also belive in the flip side when we visit an other country we should
learn that language, and not exspect them to conform to us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt spanish still an elective? I agree
that when someone comes to the U.S. they should learn our language and
the same when we go to a different country. No one is forcing anyone to
do anything.

Cowboy, what I ment about this topic Is that everyone knows about what
you are talking about.

And no I don't like the fact that they don't learn and I hate the fact
that they make kids in school learn there language. If I told the hole
truth about how I feel about illegals. I could go on for days. So IL
just leave it at that.
