Transgender child can pick restroom at South Carolina school [Associated Press] June 22, 2016 SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) — The U.S. Education Department says a South Carolina school district has agreed to let a transgender elementary student use the restroom with which she identifies. The Department's Office for Civil Rights said in a statement that Dorchester District 2 had violated Title IX, which protects students from sex-based discrimination. The office said the district originally had not given access to the girls' bathroom as a result of her transgender status. The office said the district has agreed to comply with Title IX requirements. Catherine Lhamon with the U.S. Education Department says she's pleased the district agreed to allow the student to use the restroom of her choice. District 2 officials didn't immediately comment on the agreement. Nearby Berkeley County said in April that students can use the restroom with which they identify https://www.yahoo.com/news/transgender-child-pick-restroom-south-carolina-school-114310089.html?ref=gs/ |

I heard this when I got home . One more example of Northern aggression into " State's Rights" To break sovereignty of the individual States. IMO ![]() ![]() ![]() Mill worker houses lined up in a row Another southern Sunday's morning glow Beneath the steeple all the people have begun Shakin' hands with the man who grips the gospel gun While the quiet prayer, the smell of dinner on the ground Heals up the morning air, ain't nothin' sweeter around I can almost hear my mama pray "Oh lord forgive us when we doubt Another sacred Sunday in the south A ragged rebel flag flies high above it all Poppin' in the wind like an angry cannon ball The holes of history are cold and still But they smell the powder burnin' and they probably always will And on the old town square under the barber |
