Take my hand
Walk with me awhile Down by the creek we will go Watching the water flow Listening to the symphony as it dances across the rocks Watching as it twists and turns here and there Smelling the change of seasons in the air The trees now bare, grasses all brown Mother Nature has changed her gown Climb with me into the tree Carefully now, as I often fall Crashing down into the creek below Soaked now from head to toe Come on now off we go So much more to explore Through the field, past the blue berry bushes On to the old swimming hole Now filled with silt and sand from the last flood Skipping rocks across the surface Take my hand as we cross the creek Balancing across a fallen tree To the other side, what wonders we will see Through the wood, not as empty as it seems Squirrels chittering up above Something else chittering down below, hidden from my eyes Into the clearing , once so green Feeling the wind caress my cheek ,its icy fingers a welcome friend Sit with me awhile in the glen, just listening to the wind Feel the calmness that surrounds The sun, though weak, still warms me as it kisses my cheek Stretching out on the grass, looking up into the sky Watching the clouds float by I sigh deeply Wishing you were here.... |
