Happiness


Upturning rocks, shining light in dark places
seeking and searching in actions and faces
expectations of joy to be found
with one's nose to the ground

High and low, deep and shallow
finding nothing but mere shadow
of this very illusive thing
listening for the familiar ring

The external search goes on
with no hope to be shown
because they search in the wrong places
in others actions, gifts and faces

Happines is an internal process
it is found in your own recesses
Happiness is your own state of mind
It is not a gift, possession or find

Happiness is how you look out at the world
your self vision, actions, projections and words
If you cannot feed and support your own soul
you will deplete another making them fill the hole.
