forrest gump

i mean... geez! the guy meets a wonderful girl that befriends and protects forrest since they were kids. she is his whole world!! but she has to go off and discover herself for far too long. constantly in and out of poor forrests life. until the point where he has to unknowingly go off and have a little time for hisself. running cross country after a one-time sexual encounter with jenny only to find out; years later, that the one girl he passionatly, unconditionally loves, is about to die and finally decides to marry forrest so she can leave a child to replace her.

Right, that was the only clue! Guesses it matches up time-wise to when HIV/AIDS started to become a problem though from the free-love practices of the time. They just didn't know what it was at that time - so that makes sense.

Just been a long time since I've seen either movie... but agreed: Titanic was more for the fairer gender. Although I admit I watched some of it on TV tonight when it was on.
