There are abundantly more 'interactions' in cyber world than the real world , so people tend to do all their judgment calls and assessments up front and right away as a way of 'narrowing' things down

some people, like me, expect to take our time to get to know a person, but many upfront treat it like a job interview and want as much info as quickly as possible

I bet many people are dishonest, and many are just turned off by the speed at which cyber connections expect your entire bio,,,,

I have considered disconnecting from social media several times over the constant 'drill' ,,,,,

Exactly. I have considered this also. I am honest why can't the next person be honest as well. It does not cost a thing!

I think the internet is an easy target for all kinds of vagabonds.

It's also hard to police. For instance if some scumbag scammer were to rip you off, the chances of them being caught is virtually zero.

You just have to accept it regardless of how wrong it is.
It's like going to the market place, you know there's pick pockets there so you keep your bag zipped to lessen the chance of being robbed.

It's a truly f---d up world we live in and nothing but nothing is sacred anymore.

Who is dishonest on here? On Community forums people with no commitment, alternative agenda's and fakes get quickly weeded out.

I don't know, all them crooks and scammers are creating work for law enforcement and security services, as for the screwed up world aspect of it, their creating work for problem solvers of every kind, you have to just trust everything in the ecosystem is for the ecosystem.

IF honesty is defined by someone having to reveal EVERYTHING every time they communicate and not engage in any 'omission': such honesty is rare everywhere.

If honesty is defined by someone not having any ability or interest in using their speech rationally and considerately, it is also rare everywhere.

Honesty is rare based upon personal expectation. If one wants to know, however, why people straight out LIE(knowingly misstate the facts). I think it's most often an insecurity about how the truth might make them appear and whether it will cause disinterest in someone they are interested in in some way OR because of a fear of the consequences they may suffer if the truth is revealed.

consequences had to be faced and the end is usually very hard to swallow

I joined December 2016 and since then the chatting has been pretty slow.

Reach the point where I am just wondering if there is still honest and good guys out there....ohwell frown whoa indifferent

The only real difference between the internet and talking to someone face to face is when online people show their true selves more because they think their anonymous, so they do all the things they really want to do in the flesh but to scared to in case they get caught.

My advice is to set a bar that all people you talk to have to be above, aka expect no less from them than they will get back from you, and you will soon find those good men n women to talk to.

As others have said, no picture no talk, possessive? kick them to the curb, they give you an email straight off? use a disposable account or don't risk them, most times they scammers.

I tend to look for profiles that have a normal picture, nothing that looks professionally done, and a bit about themselves.

Blessed be

Lesley xx
