my feeling is that life is a journey of lessons, every breath we take is an opportunity to become 'better' by learning more and growing,,,

because of this core belief, I believe all humans are imperfect and flawed, in need of growth and learning, which makes all humans equal

the modern thinking seems to indicate that defining anything as a flaw or imperfection is intolerant or 'hateful' but for me, it is being able to do so that makes it so much more logical to view us as 'equal'

do you feel like flaws and imperfections are what make us equally human, and by extension, capable of repentance and forgiveness...

or do you feel like some are perfect as they are and 'better' than others with certain flaws....?

I ask because I was recently posed with an invite to 'convert' , so to speak to a different christian religion

I have great respect for its members and their good works, but they preached to me a doctrine that they are the 'only' legitimate religion,,by stating that my baptism would not matter because it had not been by an authority of their church,,,

I find this to be contrary to the Bible teaching that their would be no more 'chosen' religion, not to mention the idea that all the good works and deeds and hearts of all the people baptized in other christian religions would somehow not be as 'valid' to God,,,,,

I feel we are all flawed, as I stated, and because we are so diverse in our experiences and environments, it seems to me God would offer opportunities in many denominations and places for people to come to him and to be baptised

You have raised a very interesting topic, one that I have struggled with in my past..... First, all religion is man made, and therefore flawed.... It really does not matter which religion, there is hypocrisy, dictatorship, and incomplete or misleading doctrine.

As far as us humble humans, of course we r flawed and imperfect and yes, therefore we r equal in that sense... One thing I have tried to achieve is to understand my flaws and work on changing them....a life long process in this change.... However, by talking about my flaws is a way to own them and not let it hinder my ability to have a good life.... Furthermore if I am unaware of these flaws, life still moves forward, and if I have someone to point out my flaws, it will be easier to work on them.

We were all born with sin and imperfections, so I don't sweat the small stuff. Cheers
