Trump Is Making Moves On Key Judicial Appointments.

The most since the 1950's

The Trump administration is vetting candidates to fill two vacancies on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the New Orleans-based appeals court that includes Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.

Texas Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz will both play major roles in the appointment process. Typically, senators representing states where judicial vacancies occur are given a high degree of deference by the White House and their congressional colleagues in recommending candidates. In addition, both men sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee will meet in Houston this week to vet the six candidates. All of the committee’s members were appointed by Cornyn and Cruz.

“We’ve got 127 federal judge vacancies that need to be confirmed, and then we’ve got 94 United States attorneys that need to be confirmed,” Sessions stated. “So we’re moving names forward. And we’re trying to do good background checks to make sure that these U.S. attorneys are first rate because they are key leaders in the effort to reduce crime in America and create public safety.”

Judicial Crisis Network’s Carrie Severino told TheDC in a statement. “When it comes to fulfilling his campaign promise to appoint strong, principled judges, Trump is knocking it out of the park.”

let me see if i'm getting this right...

they're vetting 6 candidates to fill 2 vacancies on
the appeals court, but there are also 127 federal judges
and 94 states attorney vacancies lacking confirmation..
so we're moving names forward and trying to do
good background checks...correct ?

knocking it out of the park ???
sounds more like a bunt single to me...
