If this is a Gripes place, then my gripe of the week, is that almost every company is moving the bulk of their sales to the internet, but almost NONE of them have a website that is actually competently set up, such that I can FIND anything. I'm trying to buy curtains, which no one locally stocks anymore, and NO ONE allows me to search for curtains by the size of the window. Seems a bit silly!

I was cleaning my vehicle and collecting all the loose change yesterday.
I filled up a bank bag.
I took it to a bank, they wouldn't accept unrolled change.
I took it to my bank, they wouldn't exchange unrolled change. But I could deposit it. Only, it would take up to 30 days to post to my account plus there was a percentage charge.

I took my increasingly heavy bag of change to the grocery store to try that coinstar thing.
Those f'ers were charging a little over 11%!

I was tired of lugging around the bag of change, I was afraid it would tear a hole in my vehicle so I said f' it and bent over for the 11% fee at the grocery store.

$113.47 (after 11+% fee) in pennies, nickels, and dimes (I keep the quarters, they're still useful).

The machine didn't dispense bills for change, but a receipt I was to present to a store employee for cash.
I went to the checkout lane. The cashier looked at the receipt as though I slapped her with it. She didn't understand what it was, even though she was standing 5 feet from the machine, and 5 feet from the machine while I was pouring change into it. She didn't understand what the coinstar machine did and wanted an explanation. She thought it had something to do with the lottery.

Then she said she didn't know what to do with the receipt.
I told her what to do, she said they don't do that.
So I asked her where the customer service desk was.
She waved her hand from right to left and said "it's over that way."
I told her "'That way' doesn't really help me since half the store is 'that way.'"
So she pointed her hand in a direction and said "over there."
I looked "over there" and only saw the produce and floral section.
I asked her to be more specific.
She said "over there, by that lady."
I again looked "over there" and saw about 8 ladies in that half of the store. I just wandered over "that way over there."

Turns out the customer service desk was a little short walled unmarked kiosk just past the registers, rather than a recessed section along the front or side wall, which I was expecting.
There was no lady there, so I stood there waiting until a lady showed up.
She was helpful! Took her 20 seconds to get me on my way.

Stupid change. If "they" want to go to a cashless society, just turn all money into change.
Stupid people. Stupid banks. Stupid service charges.
Bleh.
