You want a crazy reason for being fired? How about this one.
Babysitter called me at work says my daughter is deathly ill. Wife at the time was nowhere to be contacted, that was before cell phones.
I had no other choice but to quit my post to take my 6mo daughter to the hospital in the dead of night. A parent MUST be present. She had menengitis and the doctor said had I waited 1 more hour she'd be dead. I did wait 3 hours before leaving my post while the supervisor kept telling me he'd send a relief.
When he fired me, the boss said the client was more important!
