CAT scan showed nothing. He's probably in surgery now to have the leg pinned, then he's going to be in traction a while, I don't know how he wasn't hurt more. I'm a little better now thanks to a lifetime friend. Just talking, ...and maybe the beers and 1/4 zanny helped. They almost took me to the hospital. Paramedics on the fire truck took my BP and heart rate because I didn't look good and was shaking so bad... heart rate was high but BP was ok, so the were cool. Still trying to process, and having to explain what happened to mom, an paul, and john just brings it all back.

Thank God he's okay. It's a miracle he wasn't hurt more.

He went in surgery at 1:30. Femur broke in 5 places, pretty much shattered it.

That's sad, I'm not trying to minimize it, but at least he is okay. Hopefully with the pins and physical therapy, he will be able to walk okay.

How old is he? That's good that his Mom calmed down and doesn't blame you. And no, you shouldn't either, but I totally understand how you feel. I still after ten years sometimes revisit blaming myself for my son's death.

I'm just so happy for you that he is okay, it's tragic, but could have been so much worse.

Yes, it could have very much worse. He is 13.. he's a tough kid. It's going to be a long road. He'll be in traction a while so I don't know how long he'll be hospitalized. I'm still in shock, shakes starting again and I keep thinking about it all, then the tears start.

My sister has her own business, cleaning and managing homes. One of her clients just let us go stay in their Condo. They're not here. It's gorgeous, on the sixth floor with both the ocean and bay view.

And beds. . We've been sleeping on the floor at the place we were at.

The last three nights we slept on a floor in a little apartment that didn't have a kitchen or bathroom. Had to go next door for that.

It was great to sleep in a bed and have a home cooked meal.

Both my sister and I have hotel vouchers for temporary shelter until the place is livable. A couple hotels down here just became available, so today we are going to stay at the new resort in Key Largo.

The good thing about that is I was considering applying there because the resort I work at is an hour away. But I didn't know how they treat their employees. So while we are there, I can investigate to see it's a good company to work for.
