At my work Somolians are aloud to leave their stations 5 times a day to pray...this is their belief so i understand that. but for those people who are devout christians things aren't so great. everybody at my work is required to work every other weekend, which includes sundays, the sabbath. so my question is: if my company is willing to work around their religious beliefs but not those of christians, jews, or any other religion, isn't that descrimination?

yes it is and you have a legal right to request Sundays off. If and when they fire you for this you have a legal right to sue them for discriminationbigsmile

You have brought up an excellent point.... is there a lawyer in your church that you can ask that question to?

Just make sure you are clear that your request is for religious purposes, in fact write out your request, make a copy, keep one, and give your boss the other. Just in case

I’d say so.

Take it do the management.

Squeaky wheels get oiled.

If not, lawyers are always willing to do the oiling in exchange for a little grease. laugh

but it IS wrong when they expect christians to give up their religious practices for the sake of work but they don't ask it of muslims
