patriotism: love for or devotion to one's country


Patriotism is a word like love, in my opinion, it describes ones intent or emotion but it is a vague and subjective concept by itself


Both the concepts of Love and Patriotism bring to mind actions that we associate with them, for instance

with Love, I Believe it manifests by way of one person actively wanting the best for another and seeking to inspire and bring out the other persons best wherever possible. One can bring all the flower and chocolates and jewelry they want if they are being unfaithful or verbally abusive or discouraging you from being your best, it is not love

how does patriotism manifest? For me its loving fellow countrymen. One can perform all the customs and traditions they want, and even join the military, if they are not showing a desire for the best for their countrymen, and a willingness and desire to inspire and bring out the best in others where possible, it counts for zero.
