so many people sacrificed and risked so much believing it will make a difference. Today, lets remember that sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't, but we don't know if we don't try

and it starts with just one person at a time.

Most companies do not take this day off. Government and state offices do, schools do and union shops may. but that's about it.

Same for Presidents day, Columbus day, Ect. Most companies just give the standard holidays.. and that's it.

It was business as usual in NYC today.

Yep, I know. But the 'boss' can use discretion, work from home, or any number of options.

Being finally self employed, I love the freedom to enjoy this and other holidays, on my own time.

there are no others with self employment, but MLK day is over now.
