I never thought it would come to this
When I was searching for eternal bliss.
The road has been long with many curves,
Dodging traffic and straining my nerves,
Only to find I'm in the wrong lane,
And slowly driving myself insane.

Regardless of how this ever came to be,
At least my eyes are now open - I can see.
Perhaps that is how I went the wrong way -
By daring to close my eyes and pray,
Convincing myself to have faith
When I was only chasing a wraith.

I was caught in a lie, living a dream,
But all the while, I was losing steam!
Going nowhere but to the left and the right,
Thinking I was fighting the good fight.
Not once did I ever make headway.
I was simply ignoring the word "nay".

Now it all comes down to just this:
All of you I will sorely miss.
A new road ahead of me now lies,
The time has come to say goodbyes.
