I have thought of somthing very interesting yesterday. What is evidence to you?

Alot of people want proof in the existance of "God" "Jesus". But i have also thought of somthing else. Lets assume an extreme in this point: Our Body has 5 senses, Touch, Vision, Tase, Smell and Hear. In reality without all of these we can still survive. Now WE cannot live without the Mind, So without the Normal 5 senses, what would you consider evidence?

I ask this question becasue i believe we as humans rely on somthing too much when in reality we dont need it to survive. As well it has been said when you lose one sense, the other 4 become stronger. If you lose all 5 how would this impact the mind? Could/Should the Mind be a 6th Sense?

Please keep this to a 2 paragraph minimum, i believe you should be able to prove your point in under these guidlines. As well answer this regarding religion

Evidence varies to me. For a legal matter, the proof will be in writing. For what I believe, religion wise, it's the guidance that I get through my heart and see in actions in my life that can't be explained.

i might say thought could be a 6th sence. saying your mind is a sense is like saying your hand is a sence if you catch my meaning. but yeah i can see your logic there.

well no a hand is a physical object where touch is what you use you hand for. you can still have a hand and not have touch if it's paralized right?

"Evidence" is something that leads you to the "truth" or "fact".

It can be a physical thing or a statement from such as a witness. It can be found in many forms.

But whatever the form.."evidence" is what leads you to the "truth" or what is "factual".

Just my two paws worth.

assume though Sumthing that you have no senses. No vision touch hearing ect. This removes all physical evidence, by definition. What would evidence then be to you?

The fact that I am alive is all the proof I need that God exists.

well i'm a very logical person by nature so for me in that case i would say it would be whatever i could figure out and determine in my own brain or what would make the most sense to me logically.

being that i don't necessarily believe in a "god" i am open to the possibility of a higher power in which ever form it might come. and since i don't have any physical proof that there is or isn't such a thing the only thing that makes sence for me is to leave it open to interpritation. i believe if i live my life by what i would consider to be a good person then whatever the out come in the end it shouldn't matter.

it's kinda hard to explain my thoughts on it since i don't really know of anything else quite like the way i think.

Don't worry man, I understood what you were saying!

Azrae1l im not trying to prove Gods existance through the lack of senses. Im posting up questions to make people re-think in all honesty what does evidence really come down to? Given we can lose all our senses but still have the ability to form opinions.

i think a belief in god and religion in itself is a good thing, i just don't believe in the church really. churchs are based on people, and people get corrupt and skew things to fit their own personal agenda and it kinda ruins it for the good people.

best line i ever heard was in dogma when chris rock said it's much better to have an idea then a belief, an idea can change but a beliefe is much trickier.

So "thought" or inner vibe/feeling that leads to thought to put a word to said vibe or feeling would become in a sense a sense? Little hard not to go in a circle with that, but there you have it.

Ahh The mind being a 6th sense was a little side question Differrent =) what would require you to believe in a God if such evidence was not out of the 5 senses?
