Topic: 1916 and the Germans | |
---|---|
Was is work yesterday and one of the guys, I look after, found some historic newspaper in a charity shop, dating back to Easter 1916.
One of them was the Gaelic American, and it's editor John Devoy, claims, that a German ship with 20000 guns an ammo was only intercepted by the Brits, because of a tip off by the Americans, who were still a neutral country. Hard to say, what have happened, if the guns and ammo had reached Dublin, but maybe the Rebels would have got an important boost in their quest for freedom. |
