Upon A Heart

It is written upon our hearts
The secrets of each other
That either knows not.
Bound by unseen forces
Almost as touched by angels,
And blessed by the Creator.
Maybe never will we know
Or maybe someday it may be.
Two hearts can open and let their love come to be.
Sometimes it’s a game played by friends,
Not willing to let themselves be bound
To the one they love.
Sometimes it’s a fear, way down deep inside,
Or sometimes yet,
Unknowingly they hide.
One knows love and the other has reason
Maybe blind or not in season.
One seeks truth while another
Something different.
Maybe it’s just friends
Or maybe a lover’s chance.
When you unwittingly open a heart,
Never deny
What you see or feel,
For that heart could someday be yours.
Hold on to your heart and hold on to the memories
For what is born,
Is gone in just a flash.
Cherish what you have and love each day anew,
For nothing is ever missed,
Till it’s truly gone.
