Loyalty also has to do with standing up for your partner and being on their side. One time I had this woman who was just saying bad jokes about me to my face and making fun of me. My partner stood a few feet away and he did nothing to defend me. I think it was someone he knew.

Most couples break up over Finances in the USA. It is the number one reason next to infidelity. Many couples can live with infidelity for years. Not me though! Trust is not just about infidelity. Trust covers many areas in life. A Mature person should know that. IMO true

Knowing you can trust your partner promotes increased closeness and safety. When you trust one another, you feel safe knowing that your partner has your back and can be relied upon for comfort, care, and support.

Just like how you expect your partner to be loyal to you, they expect the same from you. Cheating breaks that trust and hurts the relationship because it goes against the loyalty you've promised each other. Many people have different terms of "cheating". Some people do not see sexting with someone else or Only Fans as cheating while their partner might. Some people see just talking to someone else of their gender as cheating. Some people see prioritizing their own friend (who is your gender) over you as emotional cheating. If you're going to talk about cheating, you need to agree with the person you're dating what is considered as that. That being said, the greater the fear and jealousy and more limiting the boundaries, the more likely trust will fail. It's important to address these factors.
