Summer of 1975
For so long, it felt like an accident As if time suddenly ran out of, well, time After all, what manner of reality could possibly be this perfect Sure, it was a bit hot, but the days were long From sun rise to sunset, moments filled time's journey with so much imagination We had it all, at least until the streetlights screamed then, it was time to outrace darkness and find home again We knew it wasn’t forever, nothing ever is But somehow hope lingered and with hope, everything is possible |
