Topic: Bush is the Symptom - Conservatism is the Disease | |

attacking the man for his opinion seemed not only very strange but also hinted of bashing.
pasting is not giving your opinion...it's merely giving the writers opinion..all mad does is he finds anything that is insulting to an American and posts it...mad's opinion can be summed up in 3 words..."I hate America" I do kind of agree with you. He never says anything good about this country. How much better we have it than a lot of other countries out there. America is incredibly new as compared to most other counties and we are several times larger than most other highly industrialized countries. We still have some learning to do and our shear size makes it a bit harder for us to be united on ideals. All and all I think our country is doing alright. Some people just love to complain and there is nothing you can do about it. They might win a $100million in a contest and get taxed 30% and complain that now they only have $70million. Cry me a river. |

in the fifties, kruschev gave his famous shoe on the table speech at the UN where he said we will be destroyed from within without them firing a shot. what is not often quoted is the next line.. "you will be destroyed by communists but you wont call them communists, youll call them liberals."
look at the 10 planks of the communist manifesto and compare it with the libs platform for an awakening. |

Rambill: Isn't the Communist Manifesto also where the phrase "Politicaly correct" comes from? Kind of "horrifying" to think that phrase has become an everyday phrase here in the USA. Lindyy |

I guess my point was that no one particular group of any race/gender/sexual orientation/ blah blah/ etc. should be dominantly in charge. Many of these wealthy people are there because they are clever and disciplined. I agree with you whole heartedly that someone of wealth, that is not still largely apart or a corporation, could be very useful in our government. Try buying off a president or congressman who's already a billionare. Providing that these people aren't interested in making more profits for themselves than i believe those are exactly the sort we need in our government.
I'm in Canada and we have the same problems with our government as you do and even more so. One of the major problems is that the goverment on either side of the border will never be changed from within. Parties is more nervous about the game being changed than who wins the election. The politicians will never allow an honest person who doesn't play by their corrupt rules to join the game. I refuse to vote as a vote, in my opinion, only permits the games to go on with the same players and rules. When the have an option of "none of the above" I will gladly vote as my vote then will disclose what I think about the current system. The politicians however will never allow an option like that since that would threaten the game they love to play at our expense. If you ask Canadian why the voted for the person they voted for you'll find more often than not the people voted against someone to make they would not get elected. The politician who won the election won it being the lesser of two evils. I surmise those people who vote against someone would choose the option "none of the above" if it was available. That being said even with all the corruption in the governments I still have a life worth living....and it's Friday... ![]() |

The great divider in this country has been babyshrub in the last 8 years. His philosphy of "my way or the highway" is not American Democracy it is Dictatorship and when people see this we will be less likely to let it happen again.
As for Madison ![]() Being patriotic in this country is to question the people who run it, govern it, etc.... That is American Patriotism. Not sit on your hands and tell yourself "they" know better then you and do NOTHING!!!!!! |

areyour snide comments realy necessary?
I meant is a compliment... ![]() Folks, the principles that our nation was founded on are the exact principles that conservatives oppose! We as liberals need to begin pointing that out. Nothing would make me happier than to see a Democratic candidate boast about what a liberal he or she was. That would give me hope for our country. Remember - Bush is only the symptom - conservatism is the disease. Let's work togther for a cure. _______ ![]() |
