Here's the deal-

Do long-distance relationships actually work? Are they actually worth the trouble? Do they actually result in anything worthwhile? Or just end up in heartbreak and crap?

Inquiring minds wanna know. But since I'm the one who asked the question, you're gonna have to deal with me, instead.

I wouldn't think so but I've heard that some have been able to make them work...

More than a few threads on this. And most people agree that most people don't agree on the issue at all.

LDR's can be a strain, but they can also work if an effort is put into them

(((prncs))) how are you this evening?

To tell the truth almost always no. I would say probley 9.9 out of 1o fail. In the long run someone will have to move, and that can be hard. But I still say go for it you never know if you'll be that .1

I think it depends on the people involved. I am in a very long distance relationship and its hard for both of us but we make it work. We only get to actually see each other a few days once a month but we are in daily contact on the phone, texting, and instant messanger. Some pros to long distance is that you dont really get tired of being around the same person and the time you do have together is all the better. However, its rough when you just have a bad day and want to be with that person but hes on the other side of the country.

I am originally from Oklahoma, and I moved to Florida 8 years ago because I met someone online, and I would do it all over again

I believe some do...

I believe some are worth the trouble...if u want to referr to it as that...

I do believe they can result in something worthwhile...

Some do and some don't....

Been there done that....

At this time I know so much more about life..

I have the oppportunity now to be were ever I want..

I would be willing to give it a try again....

Worst case..go home...

But this person would have to be extremely worthy and extraudinarily genuine and mind blowing special...

I believe he is out there..

till then..I will take my time...

well it depends on each person if long distant relationships work. as i was with my ex hubby for 2yrs before we got married and he lived with me off and on, as he always went back to eastern oregon, in the time we were together he cheated before during and after we got married, and i finally had enough and i kicked him out of the house 4 differnt time and i filed for divorce and we wernt even together for our 1st annerversary.... we have been divorced for 18yrs. have been in other relationships and i was with someone for 3yrs and before he moved in with me he was living in new mexcio but i knew him before i met my daughter dad. so it wasent someone i didnt know

well I think that distance comes into play. I just had to give up on a relationship where she was in NJ and I am in Ohio. I never got to meet her because we didn't hit it off too well on the phone. I think that had I met her, things might have been different. I still might go and meet her some day, as friends. I am thankful that we are still friends, even if that's all it can be. But at the same time, I am sad, because I really really like her.

I believe it can work as long as both people are willing to put a lot of effort into the relationship.

I've had a few that later became up close and personal. Plenty of thrills, but they didn't work out in the end.

I have no idea how other people make this work, but Eileen and I make it work every day. She is the love of my life. Some of what we do.......Phone calls every day. E-mails on a frequent basis, text messages by the thousands, post cards and letters. And the knowledge of what we were getting into. Our love for each other just gets stronger each and every day.
