I like to watch the candidates without the sound on the tv to see their body language, stance, eye contact and such. Although I did turn the sound on for McCain for a bit.

Here is what I saw:

Hillary is confident, she believes what she says, this is a strong point for a candidate

Obama is not quite as confident but he also believes what he says. Another good point.

McCain is completely dependent on the expert written speeches given him. There is no confidence or belief in what he says. This was also the same with Bush his first go round. He is brow beaten or appears so. Also, McCain is frail, does anyone else notice this?huh

I think this says alot about the candidates.

Just sharing here, would like to hear others views of what they see with the candidates.

speech. i agree she looked very good. but i missed
Obama and McCain...may have to check them out on
tape delay...

i often avoid such speeches on the basis of vacuous content....

I agree with Harley. All corporate funded(even if they say they aren't) meaning once they are president they owe them favors. (Do some intensive research and you will see the truth)

If you keep voting for the same two party system and expect different results, well I call that insanity - by Albert Einstein.

A real person, a normal person when away from their comfort zone tends to not be able to "perform" up to their potential.

the fact that both Hillary and Obama "perform" wonderfully to you says something not only about them but you as well.

You talk passionately about your beloved party and that is wonderful. But there is no room for anybody else in any conversation with you. To you we are all but lost little sheep who are to dumb to understand anything for our own good.

I dont want an actor for president, republican or democrat. I want someone with experience and sound judgement. Neither Barrack or Hillary have any real experience or sound judgement, body language to the contrary.

Expertly written speech? as if Hillary scribbled on a note pad just before hers. truth, no matter how hard to swallow is still truth. Be truthful in your post and others will do the same. Yes there are speech writers in and around DC, have been for a long damn time. It is not news to anyone, and anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant to the fact of how politics works.

Body language as a gauge to the presidency, really, come on- thats pulling out all the stops even for you.

DRAGONESS......

Of course Hillary would be confident. She won and is back in the race.

Obama would not be quite as confident as before since the News Media has been extolling him as the New Christ. It appears the anti-Christ is going to wipe him out.

McCain frail? Strange word to use ... frail pertaining to one's physical condition would be slight or weak. This man has a few extra pounds and extolls physical health. If you are using the word in an emotional/mental way, then it would mean easily broken. That is another termonology that doesn't ring true. McCain just won the Republican nomination for President. He extolls confidence.

Additionally, browbeaten means to be intimidated by a bully. If anything, it is Obama you should be using that word on. Hillary has just shown him that she is the bully. She beat him up; she trounced him.

Speech writers .... all who run for public office use speech writers .... both on Republican and Democratic side. So that is something one can throw at any of the candidates.

Body language .... that tells me you watch Bill O'Reilly. Glad you are watching something sensible.

Actually body language, stance, eye contact, etc... are all taught in law enforcement as a way to gage a person's legitimacy on what they are saying and deciet. I use it to judge character all the time. I do not use it exclusively but I do use it.

I saw what I saw. I believe these are valid observations if you do not, cool, your opinion.

Speech writers are utilized by all. There is a modicum of how the reader relates to the information in the speech. This is what I was speaking of. Hillary and Obama both relate and concur with the information in their speeches. This shows that at least they believe they can do these things that they say. McCain is relying on the speech so much that he does not look as though he believes that which he reads. It is more than acting. It is the essence of the person's convictions that shines through.

McCain does look very frail and unsure. If his health is this bad, if that would be the reason for the "look" then maybe he is not the man for the job. Plus any similarity to Bush should be considered a bad mark, and Bush did look this way also during his speeches especially in the first elections. Also when asked questions after speeches Bush would fail miserably at impromptu information, even though they are briefed of the questions.

Bush has shown what we get from this kind of candidate and I for one am not impressed. If others are then that is them.

when did I ever suggest I can read minds?...I don't need to read minds since I can read factual articles and don't have to rely on propaganda and lies as you do.

Hey, i get what you are saying Dragoness. For the typical person reading body language can be rather usefull in judging wether or not someone is telling the truth or believes in what he or she is saying. The only problem is that politicians are professional actors/actresses. They have advisors telling/teaching them how to speak/act etc. and they practice it over and over before giving a speach. This is their job, to look/sound good. What we should be doing is gauging them by their personal beliefs. In my OPINION niether Hillary or Obama have mentioned any policies, etc. that impress me at all. In fact i disagree with most of their beliefs. I guess i could say the same for Mccain as well. Pretty much in my opinion we are all screwed. I guess it's a good thing the president doesn't really get a lot of power or say in what goes on. Now congress is where we need to focus our attention...

Dragoness...................

We can go back and forth all night, both spinning things in favor of our candidate. However, it is kind of silly on your part to bash Bush for his speech/question/answer performance when he was a candidate since he did win. Wasn't it two times? laugh

I saw Hillary doing the talk shows today .... she is riding high. It seems the left media is changing its tactics and Obama is no longer the Christ Saviour reborn. The left media is favoring Hillary.
