I think the band Megadeth put it perfectly...

F- is for Fighting
R- is for Red, ancestors blood, in battles they shed
E- we Elect them
E- we eject them, in the land of the free and the home of the brave
D- for your Dying
O- your Overture
M- is for Money, you know what that cures

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing don’t mean nothing honey if it ain’t free, now now.
And feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
You know feeling good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

freedom is a powerful thing that most people take forgranted or at least
i did until it was taking from me think if you was locked up in a 8*10
room 4 the rest of your life with no tv,radio, lights, nothing at all i no
thats a little extreme but would the word freedom mean something then. i
will never take freedom forgranted it is something that could be taking
at any time by any one please think about this what do freedom really
mean to you?

That's a hell of way to get people to feel better about less!
just lock them up for a bit, so they can get out & feel good about
thier deadend jobs & no future! kinda like smashing your toe, then
socking your nuts to feel better! I'm sure the Jews felt good about
wandering around in the ghetto, it had to be better than a concentration
camp right?

They have cameras at some stop lights in town Houston and that is
cutting down on people running red lights. Although its more gravel on
the road to electronic bondage,it is more of a disbelief in mankind to
make good decisions.
Freedom is somthing we have to continually seek and work for.
I still do not like cameras at stop lights. If we would have never run
red lights I do not think the city would have any ground to stand on
when trying to intall cameras. If everybody drove safley around
stoplights then cameras would not pay for themselves and would shrink in
numbers.
Would there have been radar used if nobody speeded back in the 70's. I
cannot prove it but if neccesity is the mother of invention then driving
the speed limit may have stopped the need for electronic speed checking
devices.
Believing in people, not machines, to do the right thing and make good
decisions is what I call freedom.

Frankie said it best: "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to
purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Freedom requires self-sufficiency. Freedom is the anti-thesis of Govts.
And Thomas Paine makes the point about true freedom: "Where men of
virtue stand, there is no need for Law and Government"

good point and so true, but sadly, there's not a whole lotta virtue
going around these days.

you want to feel better about less? Go to another country that is ruled
by a dictator, (a true dictatorship as I know some are going to call
Bush that) just try living say, in Cuba, for awhile or many other
countries like that and you'll be glad to come back here anytime you
can.

there's always a need for law a government, if it weren't for neither in
this country, then there would be no peace, crime would run rampant,
what's really funny I have seen posts where people talk so bad about
cops but then I bet as soon as one of these people have a situation come
up where the law is needed they are the first to call. Quick!! what's
the number for 911?
