After a very deep and meaningful 38+ years of marriage, my wife died last year and I am starting to feel ready to explore the possibility of another romantic adventure in this life. So here are some true things about me… I am recently retired and financially comfortable, but I am also the least materialistic person I have ever known. I buy experiences, not things. My idea of Hell is eternity in a shopping mall. So if you enjoy shopping, don't expect me to accompany you. I have a cell phone but don’t live on it. I prefer in-person interactions to virtual ones (also called “remote” for a reason). I don’t do social media, and I feel no need for Artificial Intelligence because I already have A.I. – Actual Intelligence. I am very curious about other people and want to hear their stories. What is your sense of Life in general and your life in particular? What are the experiences that have shaped you? I am passionately interested in the Arts, especially Music, and especially Jazz. Also Film, although nothing bores me more than an action movie. I am also interested in watching Basketball, Tennis, and Boxing, both in person and on TV, but none of the women I’ve been involved with have had the slightest interest in Sports, so it’s not important to me that you do. I love the natural world, and I love to travel. I have upcoming trips planned to Spain, Egypt, and Fiji. If you’re the stay at home type we are probably not a good match. I love children but have no kids of my own, in part because I’m not optimistic about our future on the planet. (I have written an essay on this if you care to read it.) But I’ve always had children in my life, and many of those relationships have lasted into their adulthood. I am fortunate to have wonderful friends of all ages, and I also feel blessed to have retained the capacity for Wonder and Joy.
