I'm confused. Some messages are coming thru and viewed under "messages'. Others are received from my alert feature (when i have my m2 app minimized. ). If I don't click on it then and answer/read from alert window, when I get back to my messages they aren't there. Is thus I/m chat?

Is there a way to filter incoming unwanted texts and message from all over the world. The "100 mile or 50 mile " search only pertains to my personal search preferences. I'm new used and don't want to sift thru peeps in other states or countries. This is so time consuming and takes the fun out of looking at winks and emails only to find they are half way around the world. Thx.
