you have to consider that about 65 % of the profiles you see are not active anymore (they gave up, lost the password or just created and didnt follow up )or they never existed (especially in paid sites)or is somebody trying to scam you... the other 35 % would be 20% females of which only 8% could be a match but they already are communicating with somebody better looking ( aparently ) than you... so... NO, is not that you are doing something wrong, is just the odds are against us... then again, there still be hope...
