I'd say France has the market on horror right now, Martyrs is mainly a French production.

In the last few years France has given us Saint Ange, Eden Log, Ils (Them), Calvaire (The Ordeal), À l’intérieur (Inside), Sheitan, Trouble Every Day, Irreversible, Frontier, Baise-moi, Haute Tension, La horde...
Yup French Canadian and France.. They shot some of their stuff in Canada.. I should have stated that.. Thanks.. Ya High Tension, Frontiers, Martyrs, They are just way over the top compared to our crap..
