The problem is not whether it exists or not. We often here about past , present and future as if they we're separate things. As if one affected the other. We don't speak of a cat as if it were three distinct things; a tale , a body and a head. Reality is peeping through a fence crack. We can only grasp the universe bit by bit with our conscious awareness. So we look through the fence and first see a head then a body then a tail.
So what we make of it is first there's a tale that causes a body that causes head but it's just one cat passing by behind the fence. The tale isn't before the body and head and it doesn't cause them. It's just one cat that walks by and by and by and by
