Binary thinking, nationalism, and ignorance are very effective at blinding people to the real world. It seems common sense is a superpower nowadays.

Some of the problems with the idea of mental illnesses are over over-diagnosing, labeling, forced treatment (sometimes comparable to torture), and police robbing "mentally ill" people. Do people with mental disorders get treated the same as people who are mentally ill? A lot of ignorant people assume that mentally ill people are violent psychopaths even when there is no indication or history of violence.

One of the most feared group of people are the armed peaceful people who just want to live their lives but are prepared to defend themselves and each other in life-or-death situations. Being educated and responsible is intimidating to some people.

Ordering presents online is more convenient and less stressful than traveling to stores that are swamped with people wondering whether or not the item is out of stock. Ordering them as soon as possible will raise the chance of them arriving before Christmas rather than after. Most sites have different forms of shipping to arrive sooner for a small fee.

I disagree with the notion that we need more unarmed victims. Making "good" people helpless doesn't make "bad" people harmless. Innocent people need guns to protect themselves and each other from people with ill intent. I can't help but notice that a lot of Hollywood stars that are anti-gun are escorted by armed guards; talk about hypocrisy. I don't know about you guys, but I think educated responsibility is better than ignorant fear. For untold consecutive years, more U.S. troops have died from suicide than from combat. Should we take away our troops' guns so they would be able to kill themselves? As long as it saves one life, it's worth it right?

I'm not exactly sure what to make of it but since it floated with the current, did not move on it's own, and the light dissipated after some time, it could just be a large glow stick for all we know. A closer, more in-depth examination would be more conclusive and reliable.

For what it's worth, google's 3rd autocomplete of "obama" is "obama impeachment". The president qualifies for it but it may be too late if it doesn't happen soon enough.

I don't think chivalry is completely dead but it's on its deathbed. Some women like being treated like garbage, abused, and used for their bodies by "jerks". It seems stockholm syndrome is the new trend replacing mutual respect and courtship. Some women want to put about as much or more effort into the relationship as men and reciprocate when men do things for them so that's not considered chivalry. Feminists commonly accuse men of only doing chivalry to get women to bed or insinuate her inferiority even if that wasn't part of the agenda.

This is Dave Chappelle's take on what happened to chivalry. He thinks part of it was women, feminists, and women's magazines.

The singularity project seeks immortality by the year 2045. It may sound farfetched, but scientific progress has achieved countless things that were once thought to be impossible. Whether the deadline (pardon the pun) is met or not, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.

It is not as farfetched as it seems. It hasn't happened... yet. http://www.cracked.com/article_15643_5-scientific-reasons-zombie-apocalypse-could-actually-happen.html

While the wage gap has been cited one way or another, we must look at the context of it. I'm not great with words, but the person in this video should suffice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMkDEe8ypfU
