We all would like to live forever, but when you think about it, if we are to ever become immortal this would result in an overpopulated world with already limited resources. I read this book once namely "THE HUNTED" where in exchange for immortality the gift of children were taken away. However few escaped this fate and who had children either sold them to rich people or they were kidnapped.

Kedesha, I agree to be immortal, humans would be a challenge on this planet.

However, I believe we are immortal...in essence...in soul....in energy.

Think of this, say one person did stumble on the secret.

that person would remain as they were as others lived, died, and bred and all the while as years passed evolution goes on.

God only knows what would become of man kind in a million years but while the immortal remained as they were a million years ago the humans around him then would in deed be so different that the two may not relate at all any more. On top of that with man being a sexual creature talk about unendurable loneliness!scared

Immortality is not all it is cracked up to be.

Why be immortal, not for me thanks.

Humans in general as it is are destroyers so we need new blood that i hope will have more common sense then we had and have and this planet might survive.

If all that live now became immortals life here would only be worse, humanity needs new ideas and fresh point of view to evolve it cannot stay with the same all the time or immortality or not it would be the end of us.

Some people's telomeres don't shorten. We are WAY closer to solving this problem than some may think.

I completely agree, some major factors of DNA replication explain the majority of aging effects ie telomeres.

Interesting stuff re: the telomeres, but also a little scary. Who wants to live forever?

Where can I get a hold of some of these children? How much each? Per pound?

Come to think of it... I haven't died yet, either.

How long has it been for you? I've been immortal for 55 years now, and counting, 56 if you go back to before birth.

Hey, I thought of another thing. I would really, but really, like to become immoral.

It's been now ten years since the last time I was immoral. Oh, how I yearn for those years to come back!
