 Praise Report: My son has been praying for over a year (probably 2) to go hunting. I got him a recurve bow last Christmas, but he didn't have anyone to take him or anywhere to hunt. I take him fishing and camping, but not hunting, lol. He met a friend a few houses down last month who hunts with his father and so he started taking his bow over there to shoot arrows. My son began asking if he could go hunting with them and told me they said it was okay. I have met his parents a few times, but didn't want Isaiah to intrude on father/son time so I told him I really didn't have a peace about it and I would continue to pray... Friday night, his friends father came and invited my son to go hunting with him. I asked tons of questions and he was very polite and answered each one with enthusiasm; I could tell he genuinely wanted to take my son with them! They have 80 acres where there are plenty of deer, 3 tree stands, blinders, and arrows, so my son doesn't need anything! I just want to praise God for His goodness and faithfulness and giving us the desires of our heart!!  |

I'm not perfect and definitely make mistakes, so yeah, I believe in 2nd chances and more.
I guess it depends on the situation, the relationship and how far along it is, the severity of the offense/wrong, if he admitted it or not, and if he was truly sorry or if he acts like it never happened. And sometimes my heart just refuses to listen to my head! Also, sometimes we hurt others and don't know it and vice versa so I try to believe the best... |

The Right Partner

It is actually God's will that we find ourselves with the right partner. And l know that God is still in the business of working out for the best for His children when it comes to marriage. One time l told a friend pastor about my intention to start a relationship, and he said, '' how many books have you read on relationship, and on what basis do you intend to start a relationship''? Those where hard questions for me. He advised me to read about 7 or more books on relationships and godly dating before l ever take a step. Somehow, l have come to realise that the issue about the right time is rather about how prepared we are. Relationship is for people who are matured. Most of the time we go in search of the right partner, but you know the truth is that we need not take the trouble to search for a Good or Perfect partner when we invest time in making ourselves potential partners. WHEN WE INVEST IN OUR LIVES TO BE GOOD PARTNERS WE AUTOMATICALLY ATTRACT THE RIGHT PERSON. So as you keep on waiting for the special one, pray the more, read the more and search for qualities and virtues and l know that these coupled with the leadings of the HOLY SPIRIT will lead you to that special person. Good word...any books you recommend? Your post reminds me of a quote I once read; not sure who wrote it: "There is no such thing as an overnight success. For those who are successful, it is because of their diligence to refine themselves and their gifts. They are always prepared for the moment when opportunity knocks. Oh yes, opportunity will indeed knock. But if it doesn't find a prepared vessel, it moves on in search of someone who is ready to welcome success, love, or whatever the heart desires." |
