When I go to other profiles, I see a nice neat screen. When I veiw my
own (in profile view)I see at the bottom that the testimonials bar
overlays onto the text of the third line of text from the Life Style
area - I cna view half the text in the third line only. In other
profiles that have the same answers that mine has it shows up fine.

What up?

When I first started posting here, I posted a Wichita, KS thread and
kept bringing it to the top myself but finally gave up on it! I have
stayed for the heck of it and have met some really nice folks.

I was looking for a new hang out place and this is it! I hang out here
mostly these day. If I meet someone fine, if not, fine. It does not
matter to me. I am hoping they get blogs here soon so I will have one
place to post and not have to run around the internet like going store
to store in a mall. lol.

Leavenworth eh? I have been there, well all over KS really. Almost all
the towns/cities, plenty of small ones too.

Being single close to Wichita has an advantage as it is only a 5 minute
drive from Derby to the city limits there. And only 15 to 20 minutes to
Old Town in East Downtown Wichita.

I was transplanted here when I was five years old. lol. Not exactly
the same thing. I feel like I am FROM here as I was raised here mostly.

OK, enough. I am sure we are not the only two. I did have responses on
my old thread from three folks, I think but all were the same sex and
much younger. OH, there might have been one fellow, but I don't
remember now! yeesh.

Dave is right. I have XP and my computer reset itself to the proper
time. I am feeling that it is 6:08 am and my 'puter says 7:08 am. HA!

I am happy about that but knowing my 'puter got one up on me is really
no help as I still have to go reset all the other clocks in the house!
lol.

Good story FedMan. I had an electric bill here in Doo-Dah (Kansas) over
$500.00 once about 8 years ago. It was a mistake but almost took an act
of congress to get anyone to see that. I had to pay the bill and
complain for months to get anyone to listen.

They gave piddly credits back an inkling at a time.

I wish I would have thought of the penny thing! I would have had a
friend deliver the boxes to their Customer Service dept!

I would not have paid that postage bill though... lol.

Good Morning! I seem to be a bit late, gosh an hour late! lol.

My puter registered it just fine too.

Everyone have their coffee now? Made some macadamina and white
chocolate chip cookies last night. Anyone want one to go that cup a
joe?

There are some big time Hockey fans in my family and this is what I have
been hearing about. I just saw it tonight on you tube (from March 8).
Here it is:

bat! yeesh!

So what does everyone think about this kind of treatment/action?

Geeze a loo!

I found it, almost the same article that was in our paper today. It is
located here:

Just outside Porong, Indonesia...

I have not seen anything on the internet that has any new information on
this disaster. All is old info from last Sept/Oct. except one article I
found at the National Geographic site from January of this year.

In todays Wichita Eagle (Kansas newspaper) there was an article that
reported 12 villages destroyed and 20 factories under the mud at this
time and the mud volcano is still going strong. Well over 10,000 people
have lost their homes and are displaced.

Geologists/engineers are trying to stop it by plugging it with 1500
concrete orbs. Each orb is about the size of a beach ball and they are
dropping these one by one into the boiling mud volcano on some kind of
pully system. They are hoping this will work but do not know for sure.

Another unusual feature of the eruption is that it involves a very thin,
liquid mud. The mud is apparently being eroded out from deep
underground, creating a cavern. That means that the land around the
volcano might collapse to form a crater.

It is my assumption that the orbs being used are also going to help fill
the underground crater. ???

Has anyone seen or read anything else on this?

Hello Veronica25 and All,

I have a grand-sugar who is severly autistic. My daughter's daughter.
She is such a darling child and we love her as you love any child. She
is now 7 years old. She cannot speak and is still not potty trained.
She can communicate when she wants too with actions, but not words. She
can say "bye-bye" and wave after years and years of therapy.

We have read all there is to read about autism and the research that has
been done. Much more research is needed but understanding what your
child needs should be the main focus of learning to deal with your
autistic child.

What kind of advice are you looking for, exactly? What are your
questions?

Messagetrade (computer brainiac),

You wrote:

Go to the Control Panel

Scroll through the box called "Start Menu Items" until you find the

Make sure its unchecked.

Worked like a dream. How could I manage without you? lol.

Such simple things can drive us crazy. I am sure I checked it at some
point without knowing exactly what it would do then um... (CRS) forgot I
checked it. sheesh. I was probably doing something ELSE at the time and
wondered about it and checked it just to see and then of course forgot
where to go fix it.

Geeze a loo Batman!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

More questions later. Now that I have a place to ask my dumb questions
and there are guru's in the house, I will become a decided pain in the
derrier, I am sure.

Thanks again guys!

Some very good comments here. I agree with fedman, messagetrade and even
derfw3. I cannot add much except to say what messagetrade said
already...

>>just thankour us service men&women for what they do for you every day!!!!

>>Completely agree! Thank you, service men & women!

One good thing is when I set up a new user I got an account that has a
lot of the original settings which turned out to be a big surprise. I
did not think I had changed that much on this computer, but boy what an
eye opener! There is stuff I had forgotten and stuff I would now like
to change back to the original way it was in the user account I use the
most.

One thing I have not figured out... another (probably dumb) question
coming here...

When I click on 'start > all programs' I get the list and it goes down
and down and down and I have to click and hold on the tiny down 'arrow'
to see all the programs as they run in one long column (straight down).
I want to see them all on the screen going off to the right in new and
seperate columns, like they used too. I don't know exactly when that
got changed but it has been that way for a while.

I am sure this will be some setting that I changed some time ago but
don't know which one...

You guys know this one? Believe me, I am not testing anyone or asking
for the heck of it. I don't know where this setting might be or what it
is called or if it is bundled with other settings (and it probably is).

Thanks!
