I has a lot to do with the amount of times they have been mind fu@ked. Most of the guys lower the womans self esteem so much so they feel they can't do better- so they settle.

same reason men go back to bad girlfriends. some people need love more than they need respect. I've learned to love myself enough that I don't need to get it from a bad boyfriend thats fantastic

I think they're afraid to ask for more. I've watched a lot of my friends go that route and it's never pretty.
