I am so sorry to hear of Eric's death. At first I didn't recognize his name but when I saw his profile I remember him. Thoughts and prayers going out to his family and for you, his friend. Wish we were seeing you back under better circumstances....you haven't been on in a while and we miss you. Jon and Eileen It is understandable that when you deal with a person in real life, you wouldn't remember his screen name under these conditions. Take care. |

Eric Michael Schieve, 30, Minot, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, in a Minot hospital from injuries sustained in a car accident in Minot. Eric was born May 6, 1978, in Minot to Dale and Cyndi (Whitted) Schieve. He was raised in Minot until 1988 when he moved with his mother and stepfather to Modesto, Calif. He graduated from Beyer High School in Modesto. As a young adult he was employed at Fastenal Co. in Modesto, repairing electric and air tools until he returned to Minot in 1999. Eric was once married to Alicia Alg and together they had one son: Phillip Michael. While residing in Minot he was employed at Mackley Construction and by a Bismarck telemarketing firm. Eric enjoyed soccer and skateboarding in his younger years and computers. Survivors include: son, Phillip Michael Eric Grabow of Oakdale, Calif.; mother and stepfather, Cyndi and David Grabow of Oakdale; father and stepmother, Dale and Sandy Schieve of Surrey; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Mary Kay Whitted of Minot; paternal grandmother, Shirley Schieve of Minot; brother, Chad (Amanda) Schieve of Oakdale, and their children, Ashtyn and Garrett; half sisters and half brothers, Kathy Grabow of Modesto, Jennifer (Jason) Jenssen of Devils Lake and their daughter, Cadence, Kendall (Carrie) Schieve of Rugby; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ervin Schieve; uncle, Doug Schieve; and stepgrandparents, Wayne and Lillian Grabow. Visitation: Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Graveside Service: Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sawyer Community Cemetery, rural Sawyer. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
