You probably will never get a real answer why but sounds more like she was in love with being chased than in love with you.

Not saying it is but what you describe is awlfully familiar to how married people who are looking for a little excitement pull. They don't want to get caught so they cut it off when they actually see you or you might learn enough about them to actually show up on their steps. It is easy to hide computer chat and cell phone stuff but once it is face to face it crosses the reality line.

Count your blessings it didn't drag on for any longer than it did.

My last girlfriend did a similar thing. We were together for a year and she wanted to move in together which I thought was fantastic. She was talking about getting married and the rest of our lives together. Then one day with no explanation she quit talking to me. Then she moved out of the state. She will periodically email me, missing me or some other still love you bs but she will never reply if I reply to her. I have never had an explanation and that's what hurts the most.

When somebody hurts you like that you realize you don't love them. How can you? Move on.
