i guess i just don't understand all the profiles with pics of other people as their main photo. isn't this site about being yourself? why hide behind something else?

Some people don't like who they are. After all, you can be whoever you want on the internet.

Some pictures do represent the person. But then, other pictures only mirror what the person wishes to look like. Most members uses different pictures to have fun or connect it with an upcoming holiday. Many things. Yes, there are fakes. But you have to get to know most of the people you meet here. The plus though is this, when the person does put a picture of their true self on their profile. People are already someone else when they meet through the computer...a picture just add to the effect. (Oh yeah, I tend to really ramble when I'm tired. I'm getting off or I'll sit here and type out a novel.)

Some things are better left unknown.

some people love who they are, but love to laugh, so fun fotos mixed with real photos are plenty fine. this one however, is really me, so you can understand why i may not show it all the time. i get complaints from scared people.

I may be tired, but this really gets me!
