Don't have to believe it, but I find it very interesting.

Yeah. I've seen videos on YouTube on this very thing. While it IS interesting stuff (and kinda makes sense to a point), the scientific establishment is pretty much quick to call "bunk" on that theory.

Of course, this is interesting in that they DO know that the universe is expanding at an ever-increasing rate (thanks to dark energy... or was it dark matter), and (using logic) it could be surmised that the same kind of thinking could be used with regard to planet growth.

That theory is true. This is due to Occam's razor principle.

Established science? They are working for paycheck, not for the science.

It's the same old thing, as what had happened before, when it was proposed that the earth is rotating around the sun and not the other way around. It is happening now with a growing earth theory, and it will keep happening in the future, when the growing earth theory will finally be recognized, all those who will make living of it, will not let any new, more precise theory to take it's place. People's factor.

In few more years we will have new data from SLR and VLBI, and it will become a little harder to "debunk" the growing earth. From that point on, it will be only a matter of time before some ambitious scientist goes loud with it and makes a name for himself.

Let's wait.

I always liked Neal Adam's art work, especially when he was a cartoonist. It makes sense, although validity can't be proven. Much of what I do I think through in 3 or more dimensions and it seems as though when we limit ourselves the solutions are not as obvious. The expanding earth theory isn't bad, but remains controversial.

Well, the String Theorists talk about dark matter/dark energy being a cause of an expanding universe.

that is just too much

can't you give a summary in 20 words or less?

Of course. The Earth Grows. Evidently.

Assuming for the sake of arguement that it does in fact expand and expand from within, one could also argue that the earth is hollowing out in the process, with only a loose connection to the core of the planet. Eventually, such a division could explain little things like how planets ultimately die. Thankfully, right or wrong, it wont be in my time.

Has anyone else heard this?

I've heard a theory that Gravity itself is not a product of masses attracting with a force proportional to the product of their masses, but as a product of the very expansion that's been observed in the Universe; that all matter is expanding, exponentially at the same rate, and that the Gravity we feel is the result of matter expanding outward.

Wrap your head around that, bcuz I need help with it. Cool though, huh?

Yes, because the matter is directed towards the centers of already existing bodies, to account for their growth, and "moving matter" is dragging everything in the same direction. The denser the object, the stronger the drag force.

Just like the fishermen net is dragged by the river, the smaller the cell the greater the drag.

The observed force of drag is inverse squared, because this is the law of angular area per distance.
